While white sand beaches reaching out to touch turquoise blue waters are fairly common throughout the world, there are just some things about certain beaches that make them just a tad more beautiful and just a touch more enjoyable for the visitor. Understandably, this list is very subjective and open to interpretation based on personal opinions and experience but still, these beaches listed here remain among the most scenic and popular beaches in the world for a good reason.
Whether it is the chili laced lobster, the cold and refreshing beer, the exotic tropical drinks or simply the stunning views, Cancun Mexico is one of the most popular beach resort destinations in the world. Here you can enjoy every bit of the day in the surf and sun while enjoying the nightlife every bit as much as you did the daytime. It is difficult to imagine that the beauty or exotic nature of Cancun will ever fade, even if your photos and perhaps your memory eventually will.
Rio de Janeiro in Brazil is certainly deserving of being listed among the top beach resorts in the world. While it may be a bit difficult to find an open spot on the beach, you will generally find that the people are equally as beautiful as the beaches. If you can make the trip to Rio during Carnival, you are in for a special treat both on the beach and off as the entire town joins in an unparalleled celebration rivaling Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras any day of the week.
Waikiki is another world famous beach that deserves to be on this list as much because of its reputation and history as for its stunning beauty and location. Throw in some of the best surfing opportunities in the world and again, some of the most beautiful people and the beaches of Waikiki take on an almost surreal combination of everything that makes a beach vacation all it is supposed to be.
No world beach tour would be complete without at least one stop in the South Pacific. While there are so many amazing 
beach resorts in the South Pacific that it is nearly impossible to narrow it down to one definitive beach, we ultimately decided on Natadola Beach in Fiji. Even the Travel Channel had to include these beaches as being among the most beautiful in the world and again, the addition of surfing and other ocean adventures only enhances the appeal of this naturally beautiful beach vacation destination.
Finishing up our tour of some of the most beautiful beach vacation destinations in the world, we find ourselves on the Greek island of Mykonos. Mykonos is nearly as famous for its nightlife and the local (and colorful) history as it is for its spectacular beaches and resorts. This unique blend of old and new only adds to the natural beauty that is so prevalent here in much of Greece but especially here on the Island of Mykonos, regardless of which one of the many beaches you ultimately select for your holiday vacation destination.
